Hey everyone it’s Zainab, welcome or welcome back to Zainab Chats! Today, I’m going to be sharing with you 5 ways to cope with your mental health problems during a lockdown! This post is also a collaboration with Okiki from Purely Kiki, she will be sharing ways to cope any problems too! Let’s jump into it!

Learn A New Skill
Learning a new skill will allow you to distract yourself from the bad feelings and replace them with the satisfaction of doing something new!
Call A Helpline
There are so many great helplines with counsellors who are willing to listen to you, especially during these difficult times where you may need it more then ever! Some great helplines are Childline and Mind UK
Stay Active
Staying active and fit will replace your bad vibes with your adrenaline pumping. You will be able to increase your fitness level and have fun; there are so many great Youtube workouts!
Try And Keep A Routine
Keeping a routine will mantain some normality, I’m not saying to have a perfect routine as it’s still a lockdown but have a rough plan of what you’ll do every day!
Group Video Calls
A group video call will allow you to still keep in contact with multiple friends and actually seeing their face! Talking to friends will really distract you from your sad feelings!
So guys, those are 5 things that can hopefully help you cope with your mental health in lockdown! Be sure to comment down below your advice and check out Okiki’s post!

Have a lovely day!

This is very helpful!! I started my blog during lockdown when I wanted to do something new. I think keeping a routine is the hardest among these.😊

This is a pretty amazing list!!!
I feel that one of things we lost in this pandemic was a routine since we r at home most of the time. Reclaiming that would give us a sense of purpose and motivation to do something with this time!
I have been trying to create a routine and work on self-improvement before I go to college this fall. It’s working like 50/50 but I hope 🤞 I can pull it together…

Thats great!! I’m sure you will, what helps is to make alarms on your phone so you remember your routine and over time it will become natural! Thanks for reading!!

I do keep them for meetings and stuff where my alarm app is like flooded lol 🤣
But for routine, I just mostly keep a to-do list and strike them when I am done!

When I am depressed, I just binge watch Lifetime or HBO shows. It helps me forget the time for several hours, or even one day or two. I know it’s not the best solution, but it works to distract my mind from the frustrations.

Great tips. It’s important to keep helplines on hand if you know you suffer really badly and might need someone to talk to at a short notice.
