Teenage Girl Book Recommendations

Hey everyone it’s Zainab, welcome or welcome back to the blog! So, you guys know I’ve done a movie and TV show recommendation post. Therefore, I thought it would be fitting to do a teenage girl book recommendations post, but these aren’t just for teenage girls! I’m just titling it as the post as I know most of my audience are teenage girls. Let’s jump into the post!

The Promised One by David Alric

The Promised One is a great adventure story for all you animal lovers out there! It tells the story of a girl called Lucy who discovers she’s the promised one and can talk to animals. With this power, she has to fulfil her destiny! I read this when I was younger so I did have to have a refresher on some parts, but the story is so unique and fast-paced. So, I would probably recommend this to someone who loves quick-pace exciting stories!

The Cogheart Series by Peter Bunzl

The Cogheart Series is another great adventure story that I think history lovers would enjoy and also those who enjoy a bit of dark fiction. The main character Lily is set on finding her missing father so along with her friend Robert, they embark on the journey and learn a lot along the way about her father. There are 4 books in the series so far (but I’ve only read 3) and they’re all great books with suspenseful stories!

Hacker by Malorie Blackman

Hacker is such a cool story that I would recommend to someone who loves modern mysteries/crimes. A girl called Vicky learns her father is arrested for allegedly stealing a million pounds and she has to try and prove his innocence. It’s such an interesting book that I think would be suitable for young teens to read who want to try and get into thrillers and mystery books!

I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai

I Am Malala is such an empowering autobiography where Malala Yousafzai gives everyone an inside perspective into her life and her story. The book teaches girls to be empowered and value education (as this is Malala’s main cause). Malala writes this book as if she’s talking to a friend which I love and I really enjoyed reading this book – especially as I’m not a big fan of non-fiction books! You can read my review of it here! Also, if you’re not much of a reader, this is a documentary called He Named Me Malala which is also sharing the exact same story Malala told in the book.

Girl, Missing Trilogy by Sophie McKeznie

Okay so I don’t even have to go into much detail because if you’ve read my blog for a few months, you’ll know from my reviews how much I’ve loved these books. Quite a lot happens throughout the whole trilogy so I’ll link my first review to the first book here!

Boys Don’t Cry by Malorie Blackman

I’m ending with Boys Don’t Cry as it’s my favourite book I’ve ever read. It’s such a powerful and emotional story told in multiple narrative form from the perspective of Dante and his brother Adam. The main narrator is Dante and he quickly discovers his dream of going to University may not happen when he shockingly finds out he’s a father. This plot is so amazing, so I won’t share anything else! Again, I have a review on it you can read here!
