The Territory by Sarah Govett
The Territory is a dystopian fiction book based in the future telling the story of a girl called Noa living in a Territory to protect herself and her family! I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it!

The Territory: Truth by Sarah Govett
This book is the 3rd in the Territory story talking about how Noa needs to get back to the Territory

Midnight For Charlie Bone by Jenny Nimmo
The Charlie Bone books tell the story of a boy who has magical abilities and gets sent to magic school. This book is extremely similar to Harry Potter so anyone who loves that series should read this!

His Dark Materials: The Amber Spyglass by Phillip Pullman

This is the third and final book in the His Dark Materials series talking about how Will and Lyra are preparing for a final battle between worlds.

Chinese Cinderella by Adeline Yen Mah

Chinese Cinderella tells the true story of Adeline Yen Mah’s childhood in which she was neglected by her family. It’s such a moving story that I would definitely recommend to anyone! Check out my review here!

Harry Potter: Prisoner Of Azkaban by J.K Rowling
This book was actually a reread that I’ve read many times before but Prisoner of Azkaban was definitely one of my favourites in the Harry Potter series!

I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai

This autobiography tells Malala Yousafzai’s story and she tells her true perspective of her fight for girl’s education rights. You can see my review here.

This book tells the story of how many NHS doctors and nurses has helped so many people’s lives in so many short stories!

Andrea Barber is a very well known actress playing Kimmy Gibbler in Full and Fulelr House! However, this book talks about her life away from acting and her sharing her stories of Depression and Anxiety. There’s actually a review up on my blog here!

My ‘Must Read Books’ List

Hey everyone, it’s Zainab welcome back! I would like to thank Christina for giving me the idea of writing this post. Today, I’m going to share with you 5 books from my ‘To Be Read’ books so you guys can share what you think of the books and whether they are worth reading!

  1. Becoming by Michelle Obama
I have been recommended this book so many times before and Michelle Obama is such an inspirational woman so I would love to read about her life and how she overcame her struggles!
  2. I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai
From a young age, I have always been inspired by Malala’s work and what she did so young girls in Pakistan could have an education. I have seen her documentary but I would be very interested to see it written from her perspective in the book and what she plans to do next.
  3. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green
I’ve heard this is a very popular and moving story so I would love to read it sometime, please let me know a basic synopsis if you have read it in the comments!
  4. Shadowsea by Peter Bunzl
I have actually read the first 3 books in this series (check out the review here) so I would love to see how Lily and Robert’s adventures come to an end! I also got the opportunity to meet the author last year and he said the last book would be amazing, so I’m looking forward to getting it soon!
  5. Smile by Raina Telgemeier
I actually had never heard of this book until I was recommended it on Goodreads and reading the synopsis it looks like such an emotional story about a girl named Raina overcoming all her obstacles in life. I’m looking forward to learning a lot from the book!

So those are top 5 must read books guys, thanks for reading this post! Let me know what you think of them if you have read them!

Chinese Cinderella Book Review

Hey guys it’s Zainab! Before I start this post I would just like to say thank you so much for 20 followers, I really appreciate it! Let’s see what the next milestone will be!

I have recently finished a book called Chinese Cinderella and I found it such an inspiring story, so today I’ll give you a quick book review!

Official Reviews
Chinese Cinderella received so many amazing reviews such as 4.1/5 stars on Goodreads and 5/5 stars from Waterstones! The novel also has 87% of Google Users liking the book! Goodreads also described it is a ‘riveting memoir’ which is so true!

My Opinion
Chinese Cinderella was probably one of the most emotional books I have ever read. It tells the true story of neglected Chinese girl Adeline Yen Mah and how she overcame all her sadness. Her story is the most unfortunate and tragic thing I have ever heard as her whole family thinks she was bad luck and she was hated by her siblings. I would definitely recommend it to someone who is going through a rough time and letting them know they aren’t alone.
Also, considering I usually tend to read fiction books over non-fiction books or autobiographies but the way Adeline portrays her story makes it so interesting and you want to know more about what happens. Another great thing about the book is it teaches you about the Chinese Culture!

Synopsis (From Goodreads)
A Chinese proverb says, “Falling leaves return to their roots.” In Chinese Cinderella, Adeline Yen Mah returns to her roots to tell the story of her painful childhood and her ultimate triumph and courage in the face of despair. Adeline’s affluent, powerful family considers her bad luck after her mother dies giving birth to her. Life does not get any easier when her father remarries. She and her siblings are subjected to the disdain of her stepmother, while her stepbrother and stepsister are spoiled. Although Adeline wins prizes at school, they are not enough to compensate for what she really yearns for — the love and understanding of her family.

Thanks for reading guys, I hope you enjoyed this review and I truly think you should all give this book a read!

I don’t really talk about world issues online but I thoroughly urge you all to sign the petition to help get justice for George Floyd
