Raising Awareness For Child Poverty

Hi everyone it’s Zainab, welcome or welcome back to Zainab Chats!! Today, I’m going to start a new series called, ‘World Issues’ where I’m going to talk about things happening in the world! The topic for this post is child food poverty.

This will be a pretty basic post explaining it for anybody who doesn’t know about the issue, sharing links to where you can help and more! Let’s jump into it!

What Is Child Poverty?
Child Food Poverty is when a family can’t afford to provide food for their children which doesn’t allow them to have a healthy diet and eat their healthy meals. Unfortunately, it is growing more and becoming more and more common (especially with the pandemic).

If we take somewhere like the UK, it is estimated, that 1 in 3 children are living in poverty. That is 4.1 million! If this is just in the UK which is one of the richest countries in the world, think about the global number!

This is why influential people such as Marcus Rashford are campaigning for Free School Meals Vouchers for school holidays and during the school season as 1.3 million children are not eligible for free school meals and this needs to change!

What Can You Do?
There are many things you can do to help stop and potentially end child food poverty. The first thing you could do is send letters and emails to your government or world leaders asking them to do something about the issue!

The next thing you can do, and probably the simplest thing, is to sign petitions and links that can go to your government. If you share them with people on things such as social media or your own platform they can grow and spread awareness!

Another thing you can do it to make a donation! Obviously, not everyone can do this but if you can afford this it’s a huge help to families and children!

So guys, I hope this post has given you a bit more information about Child Food Poverty and please share this post and the links so more people can help campaign for Free Schools Meals Vouchers! Please let me below what you want to try and do as we need all the help we can get!

Blogger’s Confessions With Isabella Kate

Hi everyone, it’s Zainab, welcome or welcome back to Zainab Chats! Today, I’m going to interview the lovely Isabella from Isabella Kate Blog and the Isabella Kate Youtube Channel! Let’s jump right into the questions!

  1. Hey Isabella, thanks so much for agreeing to be interviewed on my blog! For anybody who doesn’t know you, why don’t you explain a bit about your content creating to my readers
Hi Zainab! Thank you so much for having me, it’s truly an honour! Hi everyone! My name is Isabella (or Izzy haha), and I am the creator of my blog and YouTube channel named Isabella Kate, and my Instagram, @isabellakateblog. I’ve had a love for online creating ever since i was 10 when I made my first private blog, and now I’m 14. I want to work in digital media and social media management when I’m older, so this is really helping me grow in that.
  2. All of your platforms have quite a number of followers; what would you say is your biggest growth tip for aspiring content creators or creators that are looking to grow?
My biggest growth tip would simply be consistency. It is so important for you to be consistent as your followers will see you a lot more if you are. Take Instagram, for example. The algorithm strongly prefers when you post more often, as that will give you a chance to get in people’s feeds more as the algorithm constantly changes. Consistency can be hard, but it’s so worth it.
  3. You started your content creating journey with a blog and then moved to Youtube and Instagram. What made you want to expand your platforms further and which of your platforms would you like to see grow the most?
I started off simply blogging when I was younger, and writing isn’t my strongest suit, so I really wanted to try some different platforms to see how I would do on those. I’ve always loved watching Youtubers from a young age, and I think that really made me want to do YouTube more. I started a private YouTube channel back when I had a private blog, so I got some experience before actually putting my content out into the world. I would really like to see my Instagram grow the most, as it’s what I’m most passionate for and truly have a love for.
  4. Having both a Youtube Channel and a Blog can be hard to balance; especially with school? How do you manage to balance all of your content as well as keep up with school work and try to grow at the same time. What would you say to others who are trying to grow but also are still in school?
This is so hard. As a student who just started high school this year, it’s definitely been an adjustment. I really just work a lot on my blogging, YouTube, and Instagram when I’m not doing school. I haven’t always managed it all the best, but working hard at attaining that has been one of my main goals for the semester. I would really say to others, time management is your best friend. If you waste a lot of time, which is honestly natural and inevitable, try to motivate yourself to become productive during those empty time spaces. Also, pre-planning has completely changed my social media game. Whether it’s getting ready an Instagram post and a caption ready, planning my feed, or planning out my YouTube videos for the next 1-2 months, having a solid plan has really helped me. Just be yourself, give yourself breaks, and don’t be too hard on yourself! You’ve got this!!

Thank you so much to Isabella for agreeing to be interviewed – check out all of her links here- and thank you guys for reading this post; I hope you’ve enjoyed. Let me know in the comments what you would like to see next!

My 2021 Goals

Hi everyone, it’s Zainab, welcome or welcome back to Zainab Chats! Happy New Year Everyone! It feels crazy that we’re in 2021 already; time really flies! Today, I’m going to share with you my 2021 goals.

Honestly, with everything that has happened last year, I honestly believe 2021 will be my year so I actually enjoyed setting myself these goals! Let’s jump into it!

  1. Not Being Hard On Myself
This is definitely something I have to try and improve on this year, if I get a bad grade or anything along those lines; I will feel so guilty and honestly just cry! This is something that I have to try and stop doing, I want to learn to work hard and know that there’s always room for improvement!
  2. Working Out More
When the lockdown started this year, I started exercising a lot more. Honestly, I loved when my adrenaline was pumping! Therefore, I want to keep this up for 2021 and keep exercising to improve my fitness!
  3. Making More ‘Me’ Time
I managed to give myself a lot more time to work on myself due to the 2020 lockdown and I really enjoyed it! So, this year I’m going to try and schedule at least 1 day a week as a day to focus on myself, meditation is definitely what I’m going to try and do!
  4. Being More Grateful
I think the one positive thing about 2020 is that it taught everyone to be a lot more grateful; so I want to bring that into this year! I am going to achieve this goal by making a gratitude tracker in my bullet journal and write down something I’m grateful for every day!
  5. Get To 500 Blog Followers
This is SO ambitious, but honestly this blog has been growing so much therefore I would be beyond excited if we hit 500!

So everyone, here are all my goals for 2021! What are your new year goals? Share them below in the comments!

2020 Roundup

Hey everyone, welcome or welcome back to Zainab Chats! Today is the last day of 2020 so I hope you’re all having an amazing day; to end off the year I thought I’d do a roundup of everything that happened in 2020! These are public events as well as personal events in my life and positive as well as negative ones, so let’s jump into it!

Coronavirus Outbreak
This was probably the main thing that happened this year and it changed everything in history! Nobody had ever seen a pandemic in our generation; so it was a learning curve for everyone.

WE DAY 2020
In March, I was privileged enough to travel to Wembely Arena to go to WE Day 2020 which was incredible! I got to see people such as Leona Lewis and Lewis Hamilton and got to see how to make a change!

National Lockdown:
Another significant event in March was the UK National Lockdown. I was honestly extremely sceptical about this – as we just didn’t know when we were coming out – but thankfully I was able to get through it!

Losses:
I wasn’t sure whether I should include this in the roundup but this has been a year full of numerous losses. We’ve lost time, some of us have even lost some hope. However, one of the biggest things we’ve lost is people. Whether it’s family, friends or celebrities we have lost so many people and we all need to remember them.

Thank you so much for reading everyone, what do you think about 2020 coming to an end? Share thoughts in the comments!

This is the third and final book in the His Dark Materials series talking about how Will and Lyra are preparing for a final battle between worlds.

How To Feel Positive Around The Holiday Season

Hey guys it’s Zainab, welcome or welcome back to Zainab Chats! Happy Christmas Eve! As tomorrow is Christmas for today’s blog post I thought it would be a good idea to share some ways to be positive around the holiday season; especially this year due to everything that’s happened this year!

Keep In Touch With Family:
If you’re in a lockdown and are going to be alone this Christmas, you should make sure your spending the whole day talking to your family. Whether it’s on video call, phone call or anything else; just keep connected to be positive!

Have Your Own Celebration:
Another way to be positive around the holiday is to just make the celebration your own! Even if you’re alone, or don’t have all of your family with you; make it a big deal and have a big day!

Blocking Out The Negatives:
This year especially, there were a lot of negatives so to be positive around a happy holiday season; you’re going to have to block out the negatives. You can do this by switching off your phone and the news because the news has a lot of negatives!

Thanks so much for reading guys, let me know how you’re staying positive in the holiday season in the comments!

The Kite Runner Book Review

Hello everyone, welcome or welcome back to Zainab Chats! If you’ve been keeping up with my Goodreads, you will know that I have recently finished reading the book Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. Let’s jump into it!

Official Reviews:
The Kite Runner received 4.5/5 stars on Goodreads as well as 5/5 on Waterstones! It also got 5 stars again on Common Sense Media!

My Opinion:
The Kite Runner is probably the most emotional and heartbreaking book I’ve ever read. It tells the story of a boy named Amir and how his life was so tragic growing up in Afghanistan. I think the fact that parts of this story just saddened me even more!

The way Khaled Housseini portrayed how Afghanistan was like before the Taliban took over was just so realistic and interesting, I would totally recommend this book to anyone wanting a great story (please be warned mature themes are discussed though!)

Synopsis – On Goodreads:
The unforgettable, heartbreaking story of the unlikely friendship between a wealthy boy and the son of his father’s servant, The Kite Runner is a beautifully crafted novel set in a country that is in the process of being destroyed. It is about the power of reading, the price of betrayal, and the possibility of redemption; and an exploration of the power of fathers over son.

My Productive After School Routine – Collab With Catherine

Hi everyone, welcome or welcome back to Zainab Chats! Today, I’m super excited for this post as it’s a collaboration with one of my best blogging friends: Catherine from Cath Jane Blog! We will both be doing productivity themed posts; she will be doing ‘ How To Be Productive On A Dark Rainy Day!’ Check it out here! Let’s jump into this post!

3:00 till 3:15 – Bullet Journalling:
When I get home, I tend to write my to do list in my bullet journal; I usually do this the night before but obviously plans can change so I like to just update the list with things I need to get done in the afternoon!

3:30 till 4:30 – Homework / Revision:
The first proper thing I do after I get home from school is homework and revision sessions. I just find it easier to get it done straight away!

Extracurricular Activities:
So the reason I haven’t included a time stamp is that I try to do an extra curricular activity every day; it varies from Guides to Karate or even Tuition! All the timings for them are different so it really just depends on the day!

5:00 – Promoting Blog Posts ( Only Thursdays And Sundays):
When I have a new blog post going out on that day I usually spend some time promoting it; I really want my readers’ thoughts!

6:30 – Dinner:
I don’t have dinner at this exact time every day but this is the rough time; again it really depends on what extracurricular activity I have!

9:45 – Bed:
So, I really don’t do anything productive in between dinner and my time to go to bed but having an early night is always the best thing to do!

Thanks so much for reading guys; let me know how you are productive in the comments! make sure you check out Catherine’s post! And her Instagram and Goodreads!
